Day School
Pre School
Welcome to KEHILAT LEARNING CENTER. We employ qualified, loving & dedicated team of educators. Online viewing is available, professionally monitored for your peace of mind. We are a Kosher facility.
We believe that we have an obligation for the welfare of our young children and that our quality of service to children and their parents is in our highest interest. We believe in providing a safe, happy, relaxed and positive environment for children where communication and positive self-image is constantly practiced and valued. Our belief is that children learn best through hands-on experiences and through individual and group play that is assisted by the teacher.
Children learn best by using their senses and by having a stimulating and educational environment that surrounds them and is consistently adapted and changed to suit children’s developmental well-being and overall needs.
Our daycare is committed to provide the best service and all that is necessary to the children, their parents and the community. Our constant goal is to continuously support children in their daily tasks and to encourage growth and development every day while encouraging a feeling of self-esteem, feelings of belonging, open communication, independence and enjoyment.
Parental Involvement
Parents are a vital component of our program and our commitment to the children. We encourage parents to speak to our staff and office personnel in open and honest communication.
We provide parents with all of the information they need in a detailed manner and encourage asking any questions or offering comments at any time. We are offering parents opportunities to use e-maill as a method of communication as well as offer to let them see their children at their daycare site through our Internet Viewing System. To learn more about our Internet Viewing System, please call +1 (800) 215-0152
We provide parents with a parent handbook, updated information on our website and send monthly calendars with programming details. We are always open to any suggestion, comments or volunteer time that parents wish to provide us.
Behaviour Management Policy
At KLC, we do not use corporal punishments, isolations or any kind of verbal abuse. We believe in positive and consistent discipline manner that is appropriate to the child’s actions and age. Our goal is to promote self-discipline, ensure health and safety, and to teach children to respect the rights of others as well as to care for surroundings and equipment. We require that parents, volunteers and staff members sign an agreement before starting at the daycare to acknowledge what discipline is not allowed and what discipline should be used while on daycare premises.
Anti-Racism Policy
At KLC, we regard all children/people as equals and do not accept any kind of racist remarks or behaviours. All children are admitted to the daycare on a “first come, first served” basis. The centre will promote cultural awareness through a variety of activities and programming which families are invited to participate in. All staff will be treated equally and will be fully aware of the daycare policies. All racial incidents that include staff, volunteers, parents, children or other temporary personnel in the daycare will be reported to Children’s Services within 24 hours. Policies will be reviewed annually by all staff members.
KLC is a safe place where your child can learn and grow. Our Center is new, bright, clean, secure and offers some of the most advanced learning experiences that child care can offer. You’ll also take comfort in knowing that your child is being cared for by dedicated and experienced staff.
Special Needs
The KEHILAT LEARNING CENTER Resource Team consists of our Student Services Coordinator, Principal, School Counselor, and Learning Specialists. Best practice in Special Education is to provide learning in the least restrictive environment.
We begin to serve children who need additional support in classrooms but some students receive small group or one-on-one direct service by KEHILAT KODESH Resource Faculty. Whether or not a student needs additional support depends on a referral process.
